Next up, two quilts that were quilted by my old circle-mate from do. Good Stitches, Jenny!
Quilts that arrive already finished and require only a label from me are my favorite kind, I admit. There's nothing like a delivery of a box that is light for its size!
These first two quilts were made by the NURTURE circle of ...
read moreHappy Friday once again, quilt-y friends! At long last I have photos of that last quilts from the 2021 block drive.
If you remember, the 2021 drive was the one where you all made string blocks that were foundation pieced directly onto the batting.
With another block drive wrap up comes another map:
At the same time, I wanted to do a round-up of some more string quilts that have been completed.

These two tops were sent in by Pam C. some time ago and finally finished by Linda on her longarm.

It's still hot here, just barely starting to cool down. It's a real tease, feeling the whiff of cool air in the early morning before it heats up for the day! I have two quilts this week in a cool color palette. This first one is a do. Good Stitches NURTURE circle quilt from a few years ago.
Everyone made about (8) 1" wide strips joined into a panel and these were joined into the quilt top by Briawna. Ultimately life happened and the top didn't get quilted, so Pam was kind enough to finish that step ...

Thank you, whoever you are. Several of you have ordered from or recommended Marshall Dry Goods to me, I had never heard of them before and I love their designs and prices!
Happy weekend quilters! We're wrapping up last year's red white and blue block drive just in time for the 2021 drive to start. Starting off with a few bonus quilts, Erin ...
I struggled to take pictures today with high winds and bright sunshine, but I did get photos of these two quilts sent in by Jenny and made by the Nurture circle of do. Good Stitches.
Our circle made these scrappy blocks last year and Jenny assembled and quilted them with a pretty leaf motif.
Next, the group made these "Sunflower" blocks which obviously became the inspiration for the CiL Nov/Dec block. The block is one originally made by Molli Sparkles.
Again, Jenny did a beautiful job with the quilting.
Everything is melted here now and it's a balmy ...

Happy weekend! I just finished 3 quilts from my do. Good Stitches group, the Nurture circle, for Covered in Love. This big and bright scrappy quilt was made by the group in January from 2.5" scrap strips.
This quilt was from the August Nurture circle ... read more
FYI
During the COVID 19 pandemic Covered in Love continues to make quilts to support grieving families when relatives pass away in the hospital. This is something that will, unfortunately, probably become even more necessary in the coming weeks and months. When loved ones pass with limited or no visitation and there can be no funeral or viewing of the body something tangible to hold onto to mark the transition becomes even more important.
We are not, as an organization, sewing masks, gowns, or other personal protective equipment at this time. Many other organizations are filling that role and so ...
